Job Role: GL Accountant

Place of Work: Dubai

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized General Ledger (GL) Accountant to oversee and maintain the integrity of our financial records. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and timely closing of books. The GL Accountant will manage the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and assist in financial reporting and audits.

Job Profile:

1. General Ledger Management

Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Prepare, post, and reconcile journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments, in line with accounting policies.

2. Reconciliations and Analysis

Perform comprehensive reconciliations for bank accounts, intercompany balances, and sub-ledgers (e.g., accounts payable and accounts receivable).

Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.

3. Financial Closing Activities

Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes within strict deadlines.

Prepare, analyze, and review supporting schedules and reports to ensure accurate financial statements.

4. Compliance and Reporting

Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements by maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Assist in the preparation and submission of financial reports, including regulatory and management reports.

5. Audit and Process Enhancement

Support internal and external audits by providing accurate data and timely responses to queries.

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to enhancing financial controls and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA Inter, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or related roles.

Proficient in accounting software (e.g., MS Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle).

Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.

Familiarity with IFRS or GAAP standards.

High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Accuracy and timeliness of financial closing and reporting.

Resolution of reconciling items and discrepancies within stipulated timelines.

Salary and Benifits

AED 7,000 - 9,000 per month, depending on your experience and interview.
