GIS Specialist**

Parsons is looking for a talented **GIS Specialist** to join our Doha team! n this role you will get to apply your GIS expertise to manage spatial data, develop web mapping applications, and support complex analyses, while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and contribute to critical planning and operations.
**What you'll be doing:**
+ Review and resolve day to day questions and issues that may arise from RMD staff through the use of Maximo EAMS integrated with Ashghal GIS.
+ Create and manage online tools using spatial data; designs and implement spatial databases in SQL or ArcPy
+ Delivery of the most appropriate schedules for asset data updates and cleansing
+ Gather, verify, input and maintain accuracy of spatial data received from a variety of sources such as DNO&M and RMD staff, contractors and suppliers
+ Create new GIS web mapping applications for use by GIS staff. Interfaces GIS and other software such as EAMS and CRMS to construct easy to use applications for out on Site.
+ Provide complex and ad-hoc geo-spatial analysis and reports
+ Interpret as-built drawings, maps, graphs, aerial images, recognize and resolve discrepancies in data and take necessary action to ensure quality of information is accurate and acceptable
+ Provide GIS data and plans to DNO&M and RMD to inform future planning and operations
+ Adhere to Health and Safety policy and procedures and comply with new work instructions
+ Provide technical input and supervise technical input of cad technicians within RMD discipline
+ Operate to the Quality Assurance system, quality control and document
+ management in line with current policy
+ Identify and meet effectively the requirements and expectations of the client
+ Provide GIS data and plans to DNO&M and RMD to inform future planning and operations
+ Adhere to Health and Safety policy and procedures and comply with new work instructions
+ Provide technical input and supervise technical input of cad technicians within RMD discipline
+ Operate to the Quality Assurance system, quality control and document
+ management in line with current policy
+ Identify and meet effectively the requirements and expectations of the client
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Bachelor degree in Geography, GIS or Spatial Science, or similar
+ Professional qualification such as CGeog (GIS) or GISP Certification advantageous
+ Minimum of 10 years' work experience in the utility sector including minimum 7 years' experience in GIS
+ Working and recent knowledge in ESRI GIS Software Suite including web mapping
+ Working and recent knowledge in Autodesk AutoCAD
+ Proven knowledge of roads/highways and drainage asset base with a good understanding of the end to end process
+ Demonstrate Cartographic skills
+ Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English and Arabic is preferred
**What Desired Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Provide advanced technical and/or operational expertise on GIS.
+ Experience in creating and managing spatial databases, designing online tools, and scheduling asset data updates.
