We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Technician specializing in kitchen equipment to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of kitchen equipment in our facilities, ensuring all appliances and systems are in optimal working condition to support our food and beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, mixers, and other appliances.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with kitchen equipment and systems, providing effective and timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Installation: Assist with the installation of new kitchen equipment, ensuring proper setup and adherence to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of kitchen equipment and reduce the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all kitchen equipment meets safety regulations and standards. Report any safety concerns and take corrective actions as needed.
• Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs and maintenance. Order supplies and parts as needed.
• Documentation: Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including dates, issues addressed, parts used, and work completed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and other departments to understand equipment needs and address any issues promptly. Provide training to staff on the proper use and care of kitchen equipment.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintaining and repairing kitchen equipment, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of kitchen appliances and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity and physical stamina.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
