Position overview;
The manager of the early intervention and learning difficulties center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations ensuring the provision of high-quality programs and services for students with various physical, developmental, and emotional special needs.
This role involves managing staff, developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), coordinating with parents and external agencies and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Team Management
• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction.
• Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and excellence.
• Ensure that educational programs meet the needs of all students and comply with UAE regulations.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of professionals including therapists, counselors, and support staff.
• Monitor the implementation of personalized programs and services.
2. Operation Management:
• Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of all services.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain high standards of care and safety.
• Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the center, promoting services, spreading awareness and understanding needs.
• Collaborate with schools and individuals to create the best service packages throughout the year.
3.Staff Management:
• Recruit, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate special education teachers, specialists, therapists, counselors, and support staff.
• Provide professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
4. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Ensure compliance with all special education laws and regulations.
• Follow the licensing requirements, and accreditation guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation.
• Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and funding bodies.
• Implement quality assurance measures to monitor and improve the effectiveness of all services.
• Ensure that services, programs, and therapies are evidence-based and aligned with best practices.
5. Parent, community, and stakeholder engagement:
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and program effectiveness.
• Organize and facilitate parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and other events.
• Collaborate with external agencies, therapists, and other professionals to support student needs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, caregivers, and community partners.
6. Student Support:
• Monitor and assess the progress of students with special needs and learning difficulties.
• Provide support and guidance to parents.
• Provide support and guidance to teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies.
• Address behavioral and academic challenges and develop intervention plans as needed.
7. Budget and Resource Management:
• Develop and manage the special education center's budget.
• Allocate resources effectively to support program goals and student needs.
• Oversee the procurement and maintenance of educational materials and equipment.
• Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and expenditures to ensure financial sustainability and accountability.
8. Strategic Planning:
• Contribute to the development of the center's strategic goals and objectives.
• Implement initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of special education services
• Stay informed about current trends and best practices in special education.
Qualifications and soft skills :
• Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, Business Administration or a related field preferred.
• Certification in special education administration or a related area.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in special education, including teaching and administrative roles.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to address complex operational challenges.
• Strong management skills to effectively interact with families, staff, and stakeholders.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time position with regular working hours, though some flexibility may be required for meetings and events.
• Work is primarily performed at the center, with some travel to external sites and meeting
Performance Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated based on the successful implementation of special education programs, staff performance appraisals, student progress, and compliance with regulations
