General Ledger Support Staff

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Maintenance:
• Assist in recording daily journal entries and ensuring accurate posting to the general ledger accounts.
• Support the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including bank, balance sheet, and P&L accounts.
• Verify and ensure the completeness and accuracy of all accounting transactions and entries.
• Month-End & Year-End Closing:
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of necessary reports and schedules.
• Assist with reviewing and posting accruals, prepayments, and adjustments as part of the closing process.
• Provide required financial information for financial statements preparation.
• Transaction Support:
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded in compliance with accounting policies and standards.
• Assist in reviewing financial data for accuracy and ensure transactions are supported by appropriate documentation.
• Data Integrity & Reporting:
• Support financial reporting processes by assisting with the preparation and generation of financial reports as needed.
• Monitor and ensure data integrity within the general ledger system.
• Reconciliation:
• Perform periodic reconciliations of accounts, including intercompany and other accounts as directed.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Audit & Compliance:
• Assist in preparing data for internal and external audits.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with the finance team to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to the general ledger.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure accurate recording and processing of financial transactions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education:
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.

Job Types: Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 9 months

Pay: AED5,500.00 per month

Experience:

• General Ledger: 3 years (Preferred)
