Job Description

We are looking for a proficient Underwriter specializing in General Insurance to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and experience in assessing risks associated with a wide range of insurance products, including but not limited to marine, property, third-party liability, construction all risks (CAR), and general liability (GLPA). As a pivotal member of our underwriting department, you will contribute to our growth and profitability objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate insurance applications and determine coverage amounts and premiums.
• Analyze risk factors and make decisions on accepting or rejecting risks based on established guidelines.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and investigations to mitigate potential losses.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with clients or brokers when necessary.
• Monitor and review underwriting decisions and processes for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
• IAAA or IFAA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Underwriter in General Insurance.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to details
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using underwriting software and other relevant tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,500.00 - AED10,000.00 per year
