: General Foreman (Workshop - Power Electrical)

Position Overview:

The General Foreman (Workshop - Power Electrical) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the electrical workshop, ensuring that all electrical systems, components, and equipment are installed, maintained, repaired, and tested in compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. This role involves supervising a team of technicians and electricians, managing workflows, and coordinating with project managers to deliver high-quality results on time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of electricians and technicians.
• Assign tasks and ensure efficient resource allocation to meet project deadlines.
• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to the team.
• Workshop Operations:
• Plan and oversee electrical system installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor and ensure the quality of work aligns with industry standards and project requirements.
• Maintain an organized and safe workshop environment.
• Project Coordination:
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project scope and deliverables.
• Prepare and monitor work schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Report progress, challenges, and resource needs to management.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure all work adheres to local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a hazard-free environment.
• Enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
• Inventory and Tools Management:
• Manage the inventory of electrical tools, equipment, and materials.
• Coordinate with the procurement team for timely replenishment of stock.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
• Training and Development:
• Identify training needs and facilitate skill development programs for team members.
• Stay updated on the latest electrical technologies, tools, and practices and share knowledge with the team.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment inspections.
• Prepare detailed reports on workshop activities, including productivity, resource utilization, and safety performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2-3years of experience in electrical systems
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of power electrical systems, equipment, and tools.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Familiarity with workshop management software and tools is a plus.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to manage, motivate, and guide a team effectively.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations.

Work Environment:

• The role is primarily based in a workshop setting with occasional site visits as needed.
• Requires physical activity, including standing, walking, and handling tools or equipment.
