Job Description

We are seeking a versatile and experienced General Accountant with extensive knowledge in joinery, fit-out, procurement, petty cash management, finance, project costing, taxation, receivables, weekly reporting, and statistical analysis. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in the UAE, the ability to adapt to different environments, and a proven track record of working independently. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management:
• Maintain accurate financial records for joinery and fit-out projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage petty cash transactions and reconcile accounts regularly.
• Oversee finance-related activities such as invoicing, payments, and financial reporting.
• Procurement and Cost Control:
• Coordinate procurement activities, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and services at competitive prices.
• Implement cost control measures to optimize project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Project Costing and Analysis:
• Develop and maintain detailed project costing sheets to track expenses and monitor profitability.
• Analyze project costs to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas of improvement.
• Taxation and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with UAE taxation laws and regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and incorporate them into financial planning and reporting processes.
• Receivables Management:
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Implement strategies to minimize overdue receivables and mitigate credit risks.
• Weekly Reporting and Statistical Analysis:
• Prepare comprehensive weekly financial reports, providing insights into project performance and financial health.
• Conduct statistical analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in financial data, supporting informed decision-making.
• Environment Adaptation and Independent Work:
• Adapt to different work environments and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Work independently to manage tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Extensive experience in accounting and financial management, with a focus on joinery and fit-out projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE taxation laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Prior experience working independently and managing complex accounting tasks autonomously.
