The General Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting financial information for an organization. This role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the financial decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded.
• Reconcile accounts and make necessary adjustments.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and report discrepancies.
• Compliance and Auditing:
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable:
• Oversee processing of invoices and payments.
• Manage collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Tax Preparation:
• Prepare and file tax returns.
• Stay updated on tax laws and regulations.
• Financial Analysis:
• Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights.
• Support management in financial decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as an accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
