The Gastrointestinal Surgeon will be responsible for diagnosing and surgically treating diseases and disorders affecting the digestive system, including the stomach, intestines, oesophagus, pancreas, liver, and other related organs. The role requires exceptional surgical skills, a deep understanding of GI diseases, and a commitment to patient care. The surgeon will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive treatment for patients.Key Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of surgeries related to the gastrointestinal tract, including laparoscopic and open procedures.
Conduct surgeries for conditions such as colorectal cancer, gallbladder diseases, hernias, ulcers, Crohns disease, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to ensure patient recovery and rehabilitation.
Evaluate patients\' medical histories and symptoms to diagnose gastrointestinal disorders.
Recommend appropriate treatment plans, including both surgical and non-surgical options.
Work closely with gastroenterologists and other specialists to develop comprehensive care plans for patients.
Ensure that patients receive optimal care by explaining the nature of their condition, the surgical procedures, and any associated risks.
Educate patients and their families on lifestyle changes, medication adherence, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate patient records, including pre-operative assessments, surgical notes, and follow-up reports.
Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and ethical medical practices.
Follow proper infection control and safety protocols within the surgical environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution, followed by Specialisation and residency training in general surgery and a fellowship in gastrointestinal surgery.
Experience: Minimum 4-7 years of experience in performing gastrointestinal surgeries, with a strong background in both open and minimally invasive techniques.
Proficiency in advanced surgical techniques (laparoscopy, robotic surgery, etc.).
Strong diagnostic, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
High level of manual dexterity and precision.
