Operations Management: Ensure that all operational management activities that are undertaken by organization's and companies representing Company's on gas systems are carried out in accordance with relevant gas industry technical codes and standards and comply with gas industry best practice Ensure that licensees develop and implement a suitable system of operational monitoring, management and control to ensure that all site-based activities on gas systems do not pose a threat to or result in harm to infrastructure, property or persons. Performance Management: Develop and implement a suitable system for measuring the safety-related performance of companies and organisations involved in activities that are undertaken on gas systems using a suite of key performance indicators and leading/lagging indicators Provide safety-related reports to the Gas Systems Operations Section Head on the safety performance of companies and organisations, identify safety trends and make recommendations for improvements. Operational Excellence: Undertake reviews of gas industry best practice on a regional and international level, compare with current local practices and promote the adoption of best practice through engagement with local companies and organizations, industry bodies and other industry associations. Project Management: Manage the various agreements with the multiple contracting entities that Company's will engage with in carrying out its gas system related functions. Develop and implement standardized project management procedures for the gas system initiatives, ensuring consistency and efficiency in project execution Establish and maintain relationships with industry experts, regulatory bodies, and relevant associations to stay abreast of evolving standards and regulations in the gas systems field. Manage the various initiatives and projects related to the gas safety framework elements (risk management process, set-up governance structure, certifying the progress and payments, training needs, and monitoring the progress of all other initiatives as necessary). Safety Measures: Manage the safety statistics and performance reporting, analyze safety metrics, and drive continuous improvement in safety measures. Implement a proactive risk mitigation strategy, identify potential challenges in gas Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a branch of mechanical engineering or any other related branch of engineering. Preference is given to postgraduate holders. 6 to 8 years of experience in a middle or senior management job or specialized engineering consultancy in the gas sector Familiarity with the strategic direction of the energy sector (specifically the gas sector) in Abu Dhabi, knowledge of the objectives of the sector, the strategic direction of the Department and the requirements of key stakeholders. Familiarity with the energy sector (specifically the gas sector) in Abu Dhabi, regionally and internationally. Adequate knowledge of gas networks and transportation systems. Familiarity with gas distribution infrastructure, operation, maintenance and monitoring.
