Position Overview: The Furniture Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for furniture production. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work closely with designers, engineers, and production teams to ensure that all furniture pieces are accurately designed and manufactured according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Drawing Creation:
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for custom furniture designs, including cabinetry, upholstery, and other furniture items.
• Prepare assembly and installation drawings with precise measurements and specifications.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with designers and engineers to translate design concepts into technical drawings.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure designs are feasible and manufacturable within budget and time constraints.
• Quality Assurance:
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from design and production teams.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
• Documentation and Maintenance:
• Maintain an organized database of all drawings and related documents.
• Update and manage revisions to drawings as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
• Project Management Support:
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely completion of drafting tasks.
• Participate in project meetings to provide insights and updates on drafting progress.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a draftsman in the furniture manufacturing industry or a similar field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other relevant drafting software.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of furniture construction and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent technical drawing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interpret design concepts and translate them into detailed drawings.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
