Aircapture is developing a Direct Air Capture "DAC'' plant in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates to be installed, commissioned, operated and maintained starting August 2024. We are seeking a local Plant Field Operator to help in the installation and commissioning phase, then lead the local operation and maintenance on an ongoing basis starting mid September. The plant will be remotely operated by our team in Berkeley, California, United States, with this role being the local executive arm of the remote operating team.


What You'll Do Here


• Contribute to the installation and commissioning phase as part of training to understanding the system
• Collaborate with the remote operations team in Berkeley, California to implement all local field activities based on provided guidelines and instructions
• Handle all required field maintenance including preventive maintenance, regular inspections, refills and consumable supply, filter cleaning and replacement, instrument calibration, etc.
• Collaborate with the local sequestration plant for safe and smooth operation
• Develop a local network for supplies and services required for stable operation of the plant
• Collaborate with the security team to maintain safety and security and control the activities inside the plant, including access control and preventing trespassing
• Compile and prepare daily/weekly/monthly and quarterly reports and operation log sheets under supervision of the remote operating team
• Ensure a steady supply of the required utilities for steady plant operation
• Review and confirm all local field invoices such as utility bills and services


Your Skills and Abilities Include


• BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of related experience
• Fluent in English
• An understanding of the process, control systems and plant operations
• Ability to use applicable engineering documentation for operation and maintenance such as P&IDs, manuals, and datasheets
• Experience preparing technical reports including routine operating and maintenance reports, incident and accident reports etc.
• Ability to prepare instructions/work orders for maintenance and repair projects in collaboration with remote operation team
• Familiar with applicable standards and working with project specifications
• Self-driven, self-motivated and project oriented
• Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical and industrial process plant operations and maintenance is a plus
• Experience operating and maintaining boilers, chillers, compressed air packages, and process compressors are plus


•This position requires physical activities including climbing stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching to work on equipment, operating machinery and lifting and carrying loads of 40 lbs or more.•
