The Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and blueprints for armored vehicle modifications, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and company requirements. This role supports the engineering team by translating concepts into accurate CAD drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
Create detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models for armored vehicle designs and modifications.
Interpret and translate engineering sketches, concepts, and specifications into precise drawings.
Ensure that all drawings comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
Revise and update existing drawings as per design changes or engineering feedback.
Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and quality control to ensure technical feasibility and accuracy.
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and technical documentation.
Assist in preparing BOMs (Bill of Materials) and technical documentation for production.
Identify potential design or manufacturing issues and propose solutions.
Work with various materials such as steel, composites, and ballistic glass in designs.
Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for drafting and modeling.
Conduct technical research to support design improvements and material selections.
Adhere to confidentiality agreements and protect proprietary design information.

RequirementsQualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
Certification in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software is a plus.
Experience
Minimum
3 years
of experience in drafting, preferably in the
automotive, defense, or armored vehicle
industry.
Experience in sheet metal design, welding symbols, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is preferred.
Skills
Proficiency in
AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 2D/3D drafting software.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and material properties.
Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into precise drawings.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with engineers and production teams.
