Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated

Garage Foreman

to oversee the daily operations of our automotive repair shop. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in automotive repair, and the ability to manage a team of technicians to ensure high-quality, efficient service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

:

Supervise and manage a team of mechanics and technicians, assigning tasks based on skill levels and ensuring work is completed on time. Inspect and approve all completed repair work to ensure it meets company quality standards, safety regulations, and customer satisfaction. Communicate with customers to provide updates on the status of their vehicles and address any concerns or questions. Ensure that all necessary tools, equipment, and parts are available and in working condition. Maintain an organized inventory of parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary to avoid shortages. Create and manage work schedules, ensuring adequate staff levels to meet service demands and minimize downtime. Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills development. Enforce safety protocols and ensure that the work environment is clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Address any operational issues or customer complaints in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with management to optimize operational efficiency and customer service.

Qualifications

:

Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, with a solid understanding of automotive repair. Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role in an automotive shop is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair techniques, and diagnostic tools. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations within an automotive workshop. Relevant certifications or technical training in automotive repair is a plus.

Physical Requirements

:

Ability to lift and carry heavy parts and equipment. Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods. Ability to work in a noisy, potentially hazardous environment (with proper safety equipment).
