Educational Requirements:

• Certifications : Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or Sustainable Facility Professional (SFP) from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) can be advantageous
Experience Requirements:
• Work Experience : Several years of experience in facility management, building maintenance, or a related field.
• Management Experience : Proven experience in a managerial role, overseeing teams and projects.
Skills and Competencies:
• Technical Skills : Understanding of building systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Project Management : Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Budgeting and Financial Management : Experience in preparing and managing budgets, forecasting costs, and financial reporting.
• Vendor Management : Ability to manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Health and Safety Knowledge : Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address facility issues efficiently.
• Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• IT Skills : Proficiency with facility management software and other relevant IT systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Facility Operations : Overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and repair of facilities.
• Staff Management : Recruiting, training, and supervising staff and ensuring their performance aligns with organizational goals.
• Maintenance Planning : Developing and implementing maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Space Management : Planning and managing space allocation and layout for current and future needs.
• Safety and Compliance : Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and industry regulations.
• Budgeting : Preparing and managing budgets, tracking expenses, and optimizing costs.
• Vendor and Contract Management : Negotiating contracts with service providers and managing those relationships.
• Emergency Response : Developing and managing emergency response plans and procedures.
• Sustainability Initiatives : Implementing sustainability practices to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.
• Reporting : Preparing reports and presenting them to senior management on facility operations, maintenance, and performance.
