The Training Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire flight training program, ensuring that all aspects of flight instruction, safety, and operations are executed to the highest standards. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong leadership, and exceptional decision-making skills to ensure that all training activities are carried out safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have significant flying experience, particularly with Diamond aircraft, and the ability to manage a diverse team of flight instructors.
Key Responsibilities:
Flight Training Oversight:
• Develop and implement comprehensive flight training programs in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
• Oversee all aspects of flight training, including curriculum development, flight instruction, and assessment of trainee performance.
• Provide direct flight instruction when needed, especially for advanced or specialized training sessions.
• Regularly evaluate and update training materials and ensure they reflect the latest industry standards and safety protocols.
Safety Management:
• Ensure all training flights are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to established safety standards.
• Lead safety briefings and conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and safety guidelines.
• Manage safety reporting and incident investigations, ensuring that any safety concerns are promptly addressed and corrective actions are taken.
Instructor and Staff Management:
• Manage a team of flight instructors, providing leadership and support to ensure high standards of teaching and training.
• Monitor the performance of instructors, offer feedback, and ensure that they remain compliant with licensing and medical requirements.
• Lead recruitment, training, and continuous development of instructors to meet the operational needs of the training program.
Operations and Fleet Management:
• Ensure the fleet, particularly Diamond aircraft, is well-maintained, airworthy, and properly equipped for training activities.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to monitor the technical condition of aircraft and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
• Ensure that training activities are scheduled efficiently, taking into account fleet availability, instructor schedules, and student requirements.
Administrative and Compliance Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of training activities, flight hours, student progress, and instructor certifications.
• Submit regular reports on the status of training programs, safety concerns, and operational efficiency to senior management.
• Ensure that all training activities are compliant with regulatory bodies and industry standards, including FAA or equivalent aviation authority regulations.
Strategic Planning and Development:
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the flight training program, identifying areas for improvement and recommending changes.
• Assist in the development of new training programs or certifications as needed to meet market demands or regulatory changes.
• Manage budgetary concerns related to the flight training program, including training materials, aircraft maintenance, and instructor salaries.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Licensing and Experience:
• Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Instructor License.
• FAA License.
• Minimum of 4,000 flying hours, with experience on Diamond aircraft preferred.
Medical and Fitness:
• Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Must meet physical fitness requirements: Height 175 cm, Weight 75 kg.
Education:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Technical Knowledge:
• Strong technical knowledge of aircraft operations, systems, and maintenance requirements, with a particular emphasis on Diamond aircraft.
• Ability to assess technical issues and work with maintenance teams to ensure aircraft readiness for training.
Leadership and Management Skills:
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop flight instructors.
• Strong decision-making abilities, especially in relation to safety and operational efficiency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with students, instructors, and senior management.
Language Proficiency:
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken (Recommended).
Age:
• Preferred age range: 30 - 40 years.
Key Attributes:
• Strong technical and operational knowledge of aviation, particularly in flight training.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and mentor instructors to ensure effective teaching and safety.
