The Role

The Flight Dispatcher is responsible for the delivery of a high standard of customer service in adherence to ADA, GCAA, Security and Safety requirements. Shares responsibility for the safety of each flight with the airline captain. They exercise operational control and supervision of flights to fulfill the legal requirements of General Civil Aviation Administration (GCAA) Civil Aviation Advisory Publication (CAAP} 17 and International Regulatory guidelines. o The Flight Dispatcher delivers a high standard of customer service, safety and security contributing to consistent service excellence. o Jointly responsible with the captain for the safety and operational control of the flight in preparing all details pertaining to the proposed flight, including the nature and duration of the flight, weather conditions, airway routing, fuel requirements, altitudes, general traffic flow and keeps all personnel concerned with the flight . o Maintains valid regulatory documents, passport and relevant visas. o Authorizes, regulates and controls flights according to GCAA and Company regulations to expedite and ensure Safety of flight. o Carry out Flight Following responsibilities including use of VHF radio and tracking softwares. o Ensures Flights are planned and carried out within the allowable flight and duty limits, and valid qualifications for the crew. o Responsible for day to day flight operations with all available current reports or information on aerodrome conditions and irregularities of navigation facilities that may affect the safety of flight. o Analyzes and evaluates possible effects of the weather on the route to be flown in the light of meteorological information to determine potential hazards to safety of flight and to select the most desirable and economic alternative route of flight which may be flown safely and in accordance with the company's procedures and standards. o Reviews and computes the minimum amount of fuel required for the safe completion of flight according to type of aircraft, distance of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions and cargo loads prescribed by GCAA regulations. o Prepares operational flight plans containing information such as maximum allowable take-off and landing weights, weather reports, field conditions, NOTAMS, Aerodrome facilities , ATC and communications procedures, search and rescue facilities and many other informational components required for the safe completion of flight. o Applies for landing and overflight permits, slots and Prior Permission Required (PPR}. o Prepares and signs the dispatch release providing authorization for a flight to depart. o Delays or cancels flight due to unsafe conditions threaten the safety of aircraft or passengers. o Liaise with air traffic control and airport staff about departure time s, and after departure, providing reports on aircraft status and predicted arrival times. o Collects Customer feedback; communicates; reports risks and provides suggest ions as applicable. o Monitors weather conditions, aircraft position reports and aeronautical navigation charts to evaluate the progress of flight. o Updates PIC of significant changes to weather or flight plan and recommends flight plan alternat, s such as, changing course, altitude and if required, enroute landing in the interest of safety and economy. o Responsible and disseminates flight information to stakeholders. o Updates job knowledge to self to stay abreast of new changes and requirements by participating in any possible appropriate method within and outside PF to cover information on PF systems, policies , memos, regulatory requirements (visas, passport, licenses etc), and service & safety bulletins. o Abides and ensures abidance of reporting employees to ADA adopted policies and procedures, security and safety regulations as well as local and applicable international regulations. o Adhere to ADA followed laws and procedures. o Perform other duties as reasonably expected. In the event of an emergency, a flight dispatcher shall: o Initiates such procedures as outlined in the operations manual while avoiding taking any action that would conflict with ATC procedures and o Conveys safety-related information to the pilot-in-command that may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight, including information related to any amendments to the flight plan that become necessary in the course of the flight.



Requirements

Ideal Candidate will have: o Bachelor degree with a major in air transportation on or meteorology. o Holding Valid GCAA Flight Dispatcher License or an equivalent recognized by GCAA. o 2+ years of relevant experience o Knowledgeable in the use of VHF radio and Flight Tracking Software. Good to have: o Knowledge of at least one reliable flight dispatch system (PPS; AIMS; Jeppesen) o Ad-hoc Operation Experience Certifications required: o GCAA or equivalent flight dispatch h certificate. o Dispatch resource management (DRM) o Aviat ion Security o Dangerous goods o Flight dispatcher recurrent course o Safety Awareness o Annual qualification flight o Knowledge of aviation regulations, procedures and safety requirements o Excellent organizational and communication skills o Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments o Proficiency in computer systems and flight management software o Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities o Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders o Excellent customer service skills o Ability to interpret flight plans and adjust accordingly o Knowledge of aircraft systems and components o Knowledge of meteorological conditions, air traffic control regulations, and airport operations o Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with executives and business leaders
