Job Summary:
We are looking for a Fitness Instructor, who should be an enthusiastic, energetic, and certified Instructor to lead group fitness classes that focus on low-intensity, full-body workouts combining rowing, resistance, TRX suspension training and bodyweight training, helping clients achieve their fitness goals in a supportive and engaging environment. As an instructor, you should create and guide challenging and effective classes designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, endurance, and flexibility for clients of all fitness levels.
Ultimately, you should have a strong background in rowing technique, safety protocols, and a passion for fostering a love of the sport among participants and creating creative classes.
Responsibilities:
• Design, create and deliver dynamic fitness classes focused on rowing, TRX, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises
• Provide modifications for different fitness levels and ensure all clients can participate safely and effectively
• Teach proper rowing techniques and form, TRX movements helping participants understand the mechanics of rowing to maximise performance and minimise the risk of injury
• Develop balanced and creative workout routines that incorporate rowing intervals, TRX exercises, and functional movement patterns
• Develop and update class curricula based on participant needs, trends, and best practices in low-impact exercise
• Design and implement rowing class plans that focus on strength, endurance, and technique, while incorporating various drills and interval training methods to keep the classes fresh and exciting
• Create comprehensive fitness programs that incorporate a variety of training modalities to enhance strength, endurance, flexibility, and overall fitness
• Provide verbal and physical adjustments to ensure the safe and effective execution of exercises
• Build rapport with clients, foster a motivating and positive class environment, and encourage participants to push themselves toward their fitness goals
• Offer individualised feedback and track client progress when necessary
• Inspire and motivate clients to stay committed to their fitness journeys, offering guidance and encouragement throughout their sessions
• Ensure proper setup and use of rowing machines, TRX equipment, resistance bands and any other fitness tools required for the class
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and safety, addressing any maintenance issues promptly
• Assist with class scheduling, client registration, and general studio or gym upkeep
• Track attendance, promote classes, and encourage repeat participation through client engagement strategies
Requirements:
• Must hold valid certifications in both Rowing (e.g., UCanRow2, IndoRow, or equivalent) and TRX Suspension Training
• Able to create creative classes depending on fitness goals or requirements
• Proven experience instructing group fitness classes, preferably in both rowing and suspension training
• Background in personal training, group fitness, or related areas is highly desirable
• Required CPR/First Aid Certification to ensure client safety in case of emergencies
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and instruct groups with clarity and enthusiasm
• Must demonstrate a high level of fitness and the ability to perform and lead the exercises in class
• A genuine passion for health and fitness, with a desire to help clients achieve their individual fitness goals
• Must be able to demonstrate exercises and stand for long periods physically
• Experience in both indoor and outdoor environments is a plus
