: Fire Pump Specialist

Position Overview

The Fire Pump Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of fire pump systems. This role requires in-depth knowledge of fire pump technologies, regulatory standards, and best practices to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of fire pump systems in various facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation and Setup

a. Install fire pump systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and

industry standards.

b. Ensure proper alignment, piping, and electrical connections during installation.

c. Conduct initial testing and commissioning of fire pump systems to verify

performance.

2. Maintenance and Repair

a. Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on fire pump systems.

b. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire pump components, such as controllers,

motors, and piping.

c. Repair or replace faulty parts to restore system functionality.

3. Testing and Compliance

a. Conduct routine tests, including flow tests and performance checks, to ensure fire

pump systems meet regulatory requirements.

b. Maintain detailed records of all testing, maintenance, and repair activities.

c. Ensure all fire pump systems comply with local, national, and industry-specific fire

safety standards.

4. Technical Support

a. Provide technical support and training to clients and internal staff on the operation

and maintenance of fire pump systems.

b. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including manuals and

troubleshooting guides.

c. Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and standard operating

procedures.

5. Client Relations and Project Management

a. Work closely with clients to understand their specific fire protection needs and

provide customized solutions.

b. Prepare and present reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and

compliance status.

c. Manage fire pump projects from planning through to execution, ensuring timely

completion and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire pump systems.

Technical Skills:

a. Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of fire pump systems, including

diesel and electric-driven pumps.

b. Strong understanding of fire safety standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA 20).

c. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

d. •Certifications•: Relevant certifications in fire pump installation and maintenance

(e.g., NICET, NFPA) are preferred.
