Job Description

Midas Electromechanical Contracting is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm and fire-fighting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Engineering:
• Develop detailed engineering designs for fire alarm and fire-fighting systems, including system layouts, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct site surveys and risk assessments to identify potential fire hazards and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical documents, such as system drawings, installation manuals, and testing procedures.
• Project Management:
• Manage fire protection projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely project delivery.
• Monitor project progress and identify any potential issues or delays.
• Installation and Commissioning:
• Oversee the installation of fire alarm and fire-fighting systems, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards, including UAE Civil Defense regulations.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify functionality and performance.
• Prepare detailed test reports and commissioning certificates.
• Maintenance and Servicing:
• Provide technical support for system maintenance and servicing.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire protection systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Respond to service calls and troubleshoot system faults.
• Civil Defense Coordination:
• Liaise with Civil Defense authorities to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Civil Defense regulations and guidelines.
• Coordinate with Civil Defense inspectors during site inspections and testing.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection engineering, preferably in the UAE.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE Civil Defense codes and standards.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm and fire-fighting systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
• Valid UAE driving license.
