Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) is looking for a Financial Support Coordinator to provide a number of student services, including: address students' inquiries, verify and check submitted financial aid documents and reconcile student-related information.
As this position is based in Doha, Qatar and offers no relocation assistance, GU-Q is looking for locally based candidates only. This is a full-time, one-year term, renewable position.
Key Accountabilities: Address students' inquiries through various communication channels, providing exceptional customer service. Verify and check submitted financial aid documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines. Reconcile student-related information, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies.
Responsibilities: Provide assistance and guidance to students navigating financial aid processes. Address inquiries and concerns through various communication channels: in-person, online meeting and email. Verify financial aid documents, such as bank statements, salary certificate, tax returns, for completeness and compliance. Ensure adherence to established guidelines during the verification process. Reconcile student-related information (e.g. tuition grants, meal allowance, housing guarantees). Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data to ensure data integrity. Collaborate with various teams in the department to provide necessary support. Other similar duties as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor degree. 2 + years of experience in finance, accounting or related roles. Basic knowledge of financial aid processes and documentation is preferred. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work under time pressures. Proficiency in MS Office applications, with strong command of Excel. Advanced command of English (verbal and written).
