Support regional Finance Compliance team with the monitoring of the audit progress against the agreed timetable. Lead the financial statements preparation process for Middle East entities in accordance with IFRS and NOV accounting policies. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements, staying up to date with changes in accounting standards.RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist regional Finance Compliance Manager with coordinating audit engagements throughout the Middle East region
assist with aligning the terms and conditions of the engagement letters, ensuring consistency between different jurisdictions
ensure the alignment of the audit processes and procedures throughout the region, striving for standardization, automation and efficiency
coordinate audit procedures between group and local auditors where applicable
Support regional Finance Compliance Manager with the monitoring of the audit progress against the agreed timetable.
organize and attend regular audit progress meetings covering all Middle East jurisdictions
prepare weekly status summary, ensuring that the audit plan is being executed efficiently
escalate any delays or deviations from the timetable to the regional finance leadership team in a timely manner
Assist with the preparation of the standardized statutory trial balance for multiple business units and legal entities
coordinate with various finance teams to gather and validate financial data, eliminating discrepancies and ensuring consistency across reporting entities
prepare statutory trial balance and supplementary schedules for the multiple ledgers and legal entities
process statutory adjustments arriving from US GAAP to IFRS compliant numbers and disclosures
assist with the standardization of the audit packs and reporting templates
Assist with the preparation of the year-end financial statements
help with the preparation of the consolidated financial statements for a large trading entity
lead the preparation of the statutory financial statements for some of the smaller Middle East entities
drive initiatives to enhance automation, standardization, and efficiency in consolidation, reporting, and preparation of year-end financial statements
Support Finance Compliance Manager during the implementation of full IFRS for the UAE entities (applicable FY24)
assist with performing an impact assessment with the aim to identify key differences between IFRS for SMEs and full IFRS
develop an implementation plan and lead the implementation process for some of the smaller entities
Assist with preparing assessments on highly technical accounting areas such as going concern, impairment of financial and non-financial assets, business combinations under common control, etc.Aid with the implementation and standardization of ESG and climate-related disclosures in the Middle East region (applicable FY25 onwards)BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Strong and evidenced experience of financial reporting, especially meeting technical accounting challenges and managing audit processes
Ability to work to deadlines, achieving and exceeding targets and displaying resilience in the process
Good knowledge of IFRS reporting and financial reporting standards.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience with audit support and regulatory compliance is a plus.
Strong interest and experience in process improvement and re-engineering
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Relevant education in the field of finance, accounting or similar - min. Bachelor.
CA, ACCA, CPA or Equivalent Professional Certification
Minimum 3-5 years relevant accounting experience (Big 4 and private experience preferred)
Exposure to external audits and financial reporting experience
