Summary: VES is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Lead, Eastern Hemisphere (FP&A Lead) to join our team in Dubai, UAE location. This person will be responsible for all aspects of FP&A while reporting directly to the VP, FP&A and Business Transformation (Corporate, Houston), supporting the EVP, Eastern Hemisphere (Dubai) and associated leadership team, and working closely with Varel's Controllership function to provide seamless financial and performance reporting for the Eastern Hemisphere ("EH").
The FP&A Lead will support the EVP, Eastern Hemisphere in FP&A matters and work closely with Financial Accounting & Planning efforts to ensure accurate, timely, and simple reporting of the EH business. The FP&A Lead will also be expected to support and participate in senior management discussions and presentations, and interact with Varel's principals regarding EH FP&A matters.
This role is accountable for EH strategic planning, performance reporting, and forecasting for the organization while working closely with the Controllership function in overseeing and supporting the corporate annual plan and multi-year forecasting processes. The FP&A Lead will be part of the CFO Organization's transformational efforts to develop and adopt global standardization and simplify financial and performance reporting as a key member of the Financial Modernization Program. The candidate will lead EH efforts to develop, support, and integrate EH reporting into global standard reporting necessary for executive and board level decisions.
The candidate will be directly involved in the development of personnel, processes, and technology necessary to enhance the financial acumen of the organization, and simplify and automate financial processes. This role is positioned well for further professional growth and leadership development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.• Understands Company's strategic direction and business model to be able to define and analyze performance indicators that effectively evaluates EHOs financial and operational performance:
+ Interact with the EH leadership team on key metrics and updates to the operating plan,
+ Report and track strategic growth through EH's performance and customer market growth at a company-wide level.
+ Use data to define anomalies, trends, and deviations to provide leadership with opportunities and recommendations for performance improvements,
+ Maintains a thorough understanding of Varel's core business activities, product offerings, strategies, and financial results and projections.
• Executes business forecasting, financial planning, and analysis of business drivers impacting performance. Leads and delivers financial planning, performance analysis, and reporting to include but not be limited to:
+ Annual and long-term strategic planning and valuation model for the EH business.
+ Monthly variances and performance analysis of financials, goals, priorities, and business drivers impacting financial performance.
+ Performs due diligence on financial modeling inputs/assumptions to support strategy, growth, and opportunities to enhance profitability.
+ Supports with ad hoc analysis and financial modeling and improving quality of financial data and reports.
• Develops and uses systems, processes, reporting, and repository of EH data to provide for:
+ Support VP, FP&A in development of Global Standard reporting tools to align EH to global standard processes, policies, and reporting and support evolution towards automated reporting (PowerBI, etc.).
+ Support to EVP, Eastern Hemisphere and EH leadership needs for improving quality of data and simplifying reporting for enhancing business decisions. Drive data process quality and systems improvements for budgeting, forecasting, and performance management across all aspects of business for accurate and standard data and reporting needs.
+ Develop and provide routine standard financial, performance management, and ad-hoc reporting tools to facilitate understanding of EH financial and business results and variances in achieving the teams' goals and strategies, and company priorities.
• Provides Quality, Timely, Accurate Data to support timely business decisions through:
+ Ensuring reporting adheres to company's one source of truth using SAP data for providing simple standard reports of EH performance, variance analysis against financial plans and business performance targets.
+ Driving adoption and standardization of corporate standard policies and procedures to support Controllership function in reporting monthly Close and reporting business results and variance analysis to ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate reporting requirements are fulfilled.
• Effective leadership, influence, written and verbal communication, and teamwork to drive key business needs including:
+ Ability to drive and influence change and financial transformation to support the CFO in Financial Modernization Program, including being a core-team member of key projects.
+ Build and maintain a direct link between the Controllership function and FP&A and to facilitate timely reporting between EH leadership, the global executive leadershp team, and the Board of Directors.
+ Driving alignment and adoption of global standard policies, processes, and systems that impact the quality, simplicity, and timing of company's financial and operational reporting.
+ Support EH company spokespersons to the financial and operational community and to collaborate with a wide range of internal parties, including senior leadership, accounting, and manufacturing functions.
Education and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or related business field, Engineering, or Mathematics. Knowledge of business strategy, manufacturing, and corporate accounting is a plus.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in financial and/or operational modeling and working with financial systems and reporting tools (i.e., FP&A, Supply Chain, Commercial, Operations, etc.). Preferably in manufacturing or oil field sector.
• Experience in conducting market research and assessing opportunities for market share growth is preferred.
• Working knowledge of SAP, PowerBI, BPC, visualization/reporting automation tools preferred.
• Ability to Analyze financial and business performance data to effectively indicate future risks, issues, opportunities, and business interventions needed to support business growth, reduce performance risks, and recommend business intervenes to support leaders in decisions that impact the future.
• Self-starter with effective interpersonal and communication skills with a passion to develop and help others.
