Summary: VES is looking for a Financial Controller-Global Supply Chain to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia location. The Global Supply Chain Controller will be responsible for the Varel Energy's world-wide Supply Chain and manufacturing financial activities which are primarily located in Mexico, India, Saudi Arabia and the United States reporting directly to the COO while working closely with the CFO and functional finance disciplines.
This position will be responsible for consolidating financial information provided by each facility, overseeing monthly financial closing cycles and leading the financial planning and budgeting process for the GSC team. Working closely with other leaders within the team, this position will contribute to all areas of Global Supply Chain including inventory, logistics, procurement and manufacturing providing strong financial leadership and direction.
Overall, the Global Supply Chain Controller holds a critical position in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization's Supply Chain and Manufacturing activities. They are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, facilitating KPI's, metric reporting, and contributing to the organization's financial strategy and planning. Effective collaboration with other finance departments is crucial to success in this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Financial Reporting: Collaborates daily with Supply Chain Leadership, Site General Managers and Plant Controllers to ensure financial adherence to budget, product cost reporting (COGS) and any unusual/unexpected variances. Oversees and consolidates month-end closing while monitoring financial performance to budget advising executive management on trending performance and variances. Provide accurate and timely financial reports to the management team, highlighting key financial metrics (KPI's) and trends. Directs the annual and rolling business planning processes for all manufacturing plants and supply chain functions ensuring accurate and periodic product costing rolls as well as guidance and adherence to transfer pricing policy. Accountable for the operational drivers of performance variances, proposing and driving solutions to improve performance. Facilitate the development and implementation of supply chain finance processes, procedures, automation and guidelines that will drive and improve the business outcomes. Develops and advises management on internal controls and corrective actions. Cash Flow Management: Regularly reviews balance sheet for unusual/unexpected variances for all elements of inventory, freight and purchasing. Analyze and monitor global inventory levels (raw materials, WIP and Finished) across all areas and channels to ensure optimal inventory levels are aligned to consumption necessary support product realization plans. Collaborates with corporate treasurer to timely signal supply chain financial needs (CAPEX, spend, inventory, etc...) ensuring cash needs are identified and communicated. Develops and advises management on internal controls and corrective actions. Analysis & Reviews: Review and Approve CAPEX and Assets write-offs in order to guarantee that it will be in accordance to Corporate policy and local statutory requirements. Monitor Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventory (SLOB) and recommend actions to minimize waste through collaboration with materials management, operations and manufacturing. Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of supply chain financial professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Communicate corporate and regional policies to ensure financial control and compliance. Support the VP, Controller with consolidated IFRS accounts, statutory audits, internal audits and development of policies and procedures for accounting.Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field. CPA, ACCA, CMA, CIMA qualification preferred. Strong manufacturing finance background with expertise in Operations/Supply Chain. Preferable plant controlling, cost accounting background. Minimum 10 years experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, with experience in global financial management and accounting. Familiar with Continuous Improvement systems and principles. Knowledge of ERP accounting and manufacturing systems preferably SAP. Experience with global transfer pricing policies conforming to world-wide tax regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft skills. Ability to identify, synthesize, and act upon strategic information and changes within the environment while managing multiple projects efficiently. Ability to display strong leadership and management skills, including performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, and plan execution. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues. Ability to comprehend and communicate accurately, clearly and concisely in English.
