Designation: Financial Controller Location: Dubai Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Our client has a legacy of the oldest family-run conglomerate with their business including manufacturing, food and beverage, real estate, distribution, and solutions providers in the UAE, KSA, Qatar, and Oman.Job Summary:The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures the accuracy of financial statements, manages financial risks, and supports strategic financial planning to drive business performance.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements (IFRS).
Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and financial planning.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare financial forecasts and scenario analyses to support business decisions.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate policies.
Oversee and manage tax filings, compliance, and planning.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and revenue enhancement.
Team Management:
Supervise and mentor the finance team, including accountants.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
Develop and implement strategies to optimise working capital.
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals.
Provide insights and recommendations to support long-term business planning and growth.
Systems and Processes:
Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Oversee the implementation of financial software and tools, ensuring they meet organisational needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certifications preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or accounting, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (Oracle).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders (Business Heads and Division Heads).
Working Conditions:
Full-time job
Office-based with occasional travel to entity sites (KSA, Qatar, Oman) or meetings as required.
It may involve extended hours during financial close periods or audit preparation.
