Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
• Oversee all financial operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Construction/Maintenance Specific Responsibilities:
• Monitor project budgets, job costing, and profitability analysis for maintenance contracts.
• Manage financial aspects of project lifecycles, including initial budgeting, progress billing, and final accounting.
• Oversee payroll for site workers and ensure accurate job cost allocation.
• Develop and maintain a system for tracking work orders and maintenance schedules.
• Handle financial reporting for contract bids and ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with construction industry regulations and financial practices.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial accuracy.
Strategic Support:
• Provide financial analysis and decision support to management.
• Assist in strategic planning and business development activities.
• Advise on financial implications of business decisions and provide recommendations.
Qualifications:
• CPA or equivalent qualification.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in the construction or contracting industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with project accounting, job costing, and contract management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
