To carry out a range of Management Accounting activities to provide effective support to Line Departments including to support the budgeting process, capital and revenue cost control, reconciliations and monthly reporting, and to provide an advisory service to the assigned line department where appropriate. To support BFA/FM & BFM in management accounting activities e.g. provision of business analysis and information for decision support and business cases. Job Outline
Provide accounting support to BFA/FM in budgeting process, including simulated actuals for current year, assisting departments in working on the budget packs, monitoring departmental budget submissions, and consolidating and analysing for finalisation. Ensure that approved budgets are distributed to line managers, and co-ordinate upload to financial systems.
Support BFA/FM in collating and preparing the Monthly Financial Reports and other routine or adhoc reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitor and track the KPIs for the business as agreed upon by BFM/FM.
Conduct cost/income analysis and validation on various sectional activities, as required by BFM/FM/BFA to help the line managers in their business decisions and performance monitoring. Liaise with Group MIS where applicable. Identify exceptional cost/income trends and investigate and suggest improvements where applicable, so that FM/BFA can discuss further with the relevant line managers.
Carry out the monthly/quarterly and year-end financial accounting and reconciliation of critical accounts, necessary for accurate and timely accounting/reporting. Prepare the necessary schedules for audit purposes.
Support BFA/FM/BFM in analysis, critical review and consolidation of overheads and DOCs (in Engg & Ops areas), perform job costing where required, and ensure the costs are closely monitored in relation to budgets.
Provide necessary inputs into process of recommending costing and pricing of products, to help in necessary invoicing or recharges and its accounting.
Provide inputs as appropriate into compilation and analysis of business cases and venture proposals. Support FM in contract evaluation/reviews, commercial terms, credits etc.
Perform, as directed by BFA/FM, post-commitment reviews of large projects or capital expenditure.
Contribute towards new processes, and critically analyse systems and procedures, providing suggestions for improvements where possible.
Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
More than 5 years of experience in Finance Management
Proficiency in the use of office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP software to be able to prepare and analyse reports.
Commercial appreciation and good communication and interpersonal skills to work with various levels of management and external/internal customers.
Numerate with analytical skills to interpret complex information and reports.
