Private Equity Manager - Financial Services (Africa Focus)

To fuel our growth and expansion, we seek a seasoned Private Equity Manager to join our team and augment our capital raising and investment strategy.

Position Overview:

The Private Equity Manager will be instrumental in CADI's capital-raising efforts and manage investor relationships. This individual will identify and execute private equity investment opportunities, conduct in-depth financial analyses, and manage portfolios within the African financial services market. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of private equity, experience in emerging markets, and a deep passion for scaling businesses across Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

- Capital Raising: Lead efforts to secure capital from institutional investors, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and impact investors. Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, presentations, and communications.

- Investment Strategy: Identify, evaluate, and execute private equity investment opportunities across the African financial services landscape. Align investment decisions with the company's long-term goals and value-creation strategies.

- Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance of portfolio companies, ensuring value creation, governance, and strategic alignment. Monitor financial performance, market trends, and critical risk factors to maximize returns.

- Due Diligence: Conduct rigorous financial, market, and operational due diligence on potential investment opportunities. Prepare investment memoranda, valuation models, and risk assessments for decision-making purposes.

- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, partners, and key stakeholders across Africa's private equity and financial services ecosystem.

- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics in the African financial services sector. Leverage this knowledge to drive business growth and strategic investments.

- Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

Qualifications:

- MBA, CFA, or similar qualifications.

- 10+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or venture capital, focusing on financial services, ideally in Africa or emerging markets.

- Proven track record of raising capital and managing investor relations, particularly within emerging markets.

- Extensive experience with financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and investment analysis.

- Strong understanding of the African financial services market, including regulatory frameworks, market trends, and risk management.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.

- Demonstrated leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.

- Highly entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working with technology-driven financial services companies (fintech, digital banking, etc.) in Africa.

- Knowledge of impact investing and social impact measurement in financial services.

- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments across multiple African countries.
