Overview: We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and related systems. As a Fiber Optic Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our network infrastructure. - Installation: Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables according to industry standards and project specifications. This includes both aerial and underground installations.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on fiber optic systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Conduct inspections, identify potential issues, and implement appropriate solutions to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot fiber optic network problems efficiently. Utilize specialized equipment and testing tools to isolate faults and restore service promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Keep detailed logs of cable routes, splice locations, and equipment configurations for future reference.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing and quality assurance procedures to verify the integrity and functionality of fiber optic connections. Adhere to strict safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution. Communicate effectively to provide updates on project status, potential issues, and resolutions.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support and assistance to customers as needed. Address inquiries, resolve issues, and offer recommendations for optimizing fiber optic network performance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or coursework in telecommunications preferred.
- Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of fiber optic technology, including installation techniques, splicing methods, and testing procedures.
- Proficiency with fiber optic splicing equipment, fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and other specialized tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid UAE driver\'s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to various job sites as required.
