We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Feedlot Specialist to join our team. As a Feedlot Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of our feedlot facility. You will ensure the proper care, handling, and feeding of livestock to maintain their health and optimize growth. Your expertise in feedlot management, animal nutrition, and herd health will be essential to the success of our operation.
Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the feedlot facility, including overseeing feeding, health monitoring, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards for animal welfare, food safety, and environmental protection.
• Develop and implement feeding programs to optimize livestock growth and performance.
• Monitor the health of livestock, identify signs of illness or distress, and provide appropriate veterinary care or treatment.
• Maintain accurate records of feed inventories, animal health treatments, and other related data.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of quality feed and other necessary resources.
• Train and supervise feedlot staff in proper animal handling techniques, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and consultants to implement best practices for animal nutrition and herd health management.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure they are well-maintained and in good working condition.
• Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in feedlot management practices, and regulatory changes that may impact operations.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in feedlot management or related livestock operations.
• Strong knowledge of animal nutrition, herd health management, and feeding programs.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards for animal welfare, food safety, and environmental compliance.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks associated with livestock handling, including bending, lifting, and operating equipment. The Feedlot Specialist must be capable of working in various weather conditions and be comfortable working around animals.
