Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Soil Preparation: Prepare fields for planting by tilling, fertilizing and setting up drip irrigation systems

Planting and Transplanting: Assist in planting onion seeds and transplanting seedlings as required

Irrigation Management: Operate and maintain the drip irrigation system, ensuring adequate water supply to the crops

Crop Maintenance: Perform regular weeding, and other crop care activities to maintain healthy growth - Monitor crops for signs of diseases and pests infestation and report to supervisors for prompt intervention

Harvesting: Helps in the harvesting of onions, including lifting, sorting and packaging for sale storage

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all farm tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly after use. - Report any equipment malfunctions or repairs needed to the supervisors

General Farm Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness around the farm, - Assist with construction and repair of farm structures as may be needed

Qualifications

Previous experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred but not mandatory

Basic understanding of crop care and irrigation systems

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team

Strong attention to details and commitment to producing high quality crops
