Date Posted: 21-05-2024 Position: Farm Manager - Organic Agricultural Farming and Livestock Nationality: UK / European Location: Muscat, Muscat Governorate, Oman Contract Details: Full-time We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Manager to oversee our organic agricultural farming and livestock operation in Muscat, Oman. The ideal candidate will be a UK national with a strong background in organic farming and a passion for sustainable agriculture. As the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the farm's operations, including crop production, livestock care, and farm maintenance. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all farming practices are in line with organic standards and principles. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a strategic plan for the farm, including crop rotation, livestock management, and sustainable farming practices - Manage all aspects of crop production, including planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting - Oversee the care and well-being of all livestock, including feeding, breeding, and health management - Ensure compliance with organic farming standards and maintain necessary certifications - Manage a team of farm workers and provide training and guidance as needed - Monitor and maintain farm equipment and facilities - Develop and manage a budget for the farm, including purchasing supplies and managing expenses - Market and sell farm products to local markets and restaurants - Maintain accurate records and reports on farm production and financials - Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in organic farming and livestock management - Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve overall business goals and objectives Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Farm Management, or related field 15+ years of proven experience in which 5+ years in leadership role within the organic farming and livestock management, preferably from Europe region. - Strong knowledge of organic farming practices and principles - Experience managing a team and overseeing farm operations - Excellent communication and leadership skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Proficient in Microsoft Office and farm management software - Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm equipment - Willingness to relocate to Muscat, Oman and work a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed If you have a passion for sustainable agriculture and a strong background in organic farming, we want to hear from you!
