Job Responsibilities:
• Production Planning: Develop production schedules and workflows to optimize resource utilization and meet project deadlines.
• Team Management: Lead, supervise, and motivate production teams including carpenters, joiners, and other skilled workers to ensure efficient and quality work output.
• Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that joinery and fit-out products meet specified standards and client requirements.
• Material Procurement: Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and resources needed for production.
• Budget Management: Monitor production budgets and expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to create a safe working environment for production staff and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align production activities with project timelines and specifications.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement measures to enhance production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Problem Solving: Address production issues and challenges in a timely manner, troubleshooting problems to minimize delays and disruptions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation for project tracking, analysis, and compliance purposes.
Job Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as engineering, manufacturing, or operations management. A diploma or certification in joinery or carpentry may also be beneficial.
• Experience: Previous experience in a production management role within the joinery, woodworking, or interior fit-out industry is typically required. This may range from 3-5 years or more depending on the complexity of projects managed.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints is essential. Familiarity with joinery techniques, woodworking machinery, and interior fit-out materials and processes is highly desirable.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills to effectively lead and motivate production teams, delegate tasks, and resolve conflicts.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external suppliers, and clients effectively.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify production issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office suite and production management software for scheduling, inventory management, and reporting purposes.
• Health and Safety Knowledge: Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to the woodworking and construction industry to ensure a safe working environment.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, deadlines, and priorities while maintaining a high level of performance and quality standards.
