Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Facility Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and development of school facilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing facilities within an educational environment, with expertise in civil works and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems . This role requires excellent organisational skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee daily operations of school facilities, including classrooms, sports facilities, and other infrastructure.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Oversee civil works , including renovations, construction projects, and structural maintenance.
• Manage MEP systems , ensuring the functionality and efficiency of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all school facilities and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Liaise with school administrators, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects and services.
• Prepare budgets, track expenses, and manage resources effectively for maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
• Handle emergency situations such as power outages, water leaks, or system failures to minimize disruption.
• Implement sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient practices where applicable.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in facility management, preferably in an educational institution or similar environment.
• Proven experience with civil works (construction, renovation, and structural maintenance).
• Expertise in managing MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems).
• Strong understanding of local building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle emergencies effectively.
• Proficiency in facility management software/tools is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
