:The Facilities Manager oversees the safety and maintenance of the built environment that comprise of the museum building and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations. Recommends and coordinates improvements to the building as needed to ensure a safe, functional, and appealing environment. The role holder shall manage myriad outsourced Facilities Management contracts.
Works with the Technical Operations Director, to develop short, medium and long-term strategic plans of the Department in line with the organizations vision, mission and strategic goals
Establishes Hard Facilities Management & Soft Facilities Managements section goals, methods, policies and procedures for implementing programs in alignment with the Technical Operations Departments strategic vision, mission and goals.
Develop and oversee the implementation of the asset management system, including: the establishment and implementation of the asset management strategy ancillary policies and procedures
Prepare sectional business plans for the life cycle of assets, including analysis of pricing options utilizing life cycle cost modeling principles, and recommendations on the most appropriate asset solution and ensures the availability of required resources to carry out all the tasks related to Business (Asset Management) Plans.
Carries out technical and operational reviews on all building elements and components with a view of determining functional capacity and performance levels and provides recommendations for instigating improvement works.
Manages all aspects Health & Safety management pertaining to Hard & Soft FM Services including associated capital works by 3rd party vendors
Manages the budget and keep tracks on all facilities and maintenance spending, identifies, troubleshoots, produces scopes of work, drawings/specifications, competitively bid, qualify, value engineer, award and oversee Capital Expenditure maintenance and renovation activities
Responsible for the development and adoption of Sustainable Maintenance Strategies (Industrial Revolution 4.0 concepts) across the assets portfolio and the development and creation of knowledge repository (Digital Technical Library) to track and monitor all Hard & Soft FM Service activities.
Shall undertake risk assessments to identify potential threats and hazards that could impact the museum core business activities and instigate mitigation strategies (business continuity plans for the critical building systems) including robust systems for monitoring their effectiveness.
Undertakes analytics of the FM function and generates regular reports related to maintenance and facilities management to the Director of Technical Operations
Provides performance management, career development guidance, and development of key performance indicators (KPIs) for direct reports
Ensures operational excellence in achieving KPIs, working towards establishing a sustainable financial model by achieving any set financial targets and driving internal process improvement and efficiency
As a brand ambassador the role holder will consider the customer prospective in all projects - working to understand and manage all stakeholders
RequirementsExperience Requirements
10 years of post graduate experience in in managing facilities and maintenance for a large public space or medium to large organization
3-5 years of experience in a management role which included leading & managing people
Fluency in English
Experience working in hospitality or health care domain
Fluency in Arabic, English and French preferred
Education Requirements
Bachelors in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or a degree in Architecture
Master's (in above) preferred
Professional certification such as CPMM, FMC, CMM, IFMA and CFM
