We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Facilities Engineer with a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to join our Facilities Management (FM) team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a related field, managing and overseeing the operation, maintenance, and improvement of facility systems and infrastructure. The Facilities Engineer will ensure all systems are functioning efficiently, meet safety standards, and align with the company's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems of the facility.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, and other facility systems.
Oversee and manage repairs, upgrades, and installations of equipment and infrastructure.
Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring all systems are safe, reliable, and energy-efficient.
Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues, responding to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Maintain facility drawings, technical documents, and manuals for all building systems and equipment.
Prepare reports on facility operations, maintenance activities, and improvements.
Assist in the development and execution of the facility's annual budget, managing resources efficiently.
Collaborate with other departments to support day-to-day operations and implement facility improvements.
Ensure that the facility's operations comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Support sustainability initiatives and energy-saving projects to reduce operational costs.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding facilities issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management or engineering, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other facilities management software.
Ability to manage vendors and contractors effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive and self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement.
Desirable:
Certification in facilities management (e.g., FMP, IFMA) is a plus.
Experience with sustainability initiatives or energy-efficient solutions.
Knowledge of fire and life safety systems.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with standard office hours, but may require after-hours or weekend work depending on project timelines or emergency situations.
On-site presence required to manage and oversee facility operations.
