Role Description

The Fabrication supervisor will be responsible for scheduling and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the fabricators and the workers. He will ensure adherence to contract specifications and established policies and procedures while applying appropriate safety techniques of the work performed onboard the ships and on-site jobs. He will play a critical role in ensuring that successful and safe work is performed onboard the vessel and various projects. He also liaises between the workers and the upper management.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing Welding, fabrication and assembly of various electromechanical and electronic assemblies within the team and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops such as drill press, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters. Supervise the team to make sure they are following blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to completed and successful tasks within in deadlines. Provide technical guidance to the team and review the work for compliance within accepted practices.
• To monitor employees, work levels and review work performance and provide accurate feedback to the reporting supervisor who later on would review it and forward it down to the Human resources dept. The supervisor should recommend hard working employees to the upper management for increment or promotion during the time of appraisal. He should have a good relation with the mechanics and retain good employees.
• The supervisor should be able to investigate accidents and injuries and prepare reports of findings through the report submitted to him by the Fabricators. Conducts or arranges for workers training in safety, repair, maintenance techniques or equipment use.
• Coordinate with customers for planning and scheduling of activities prior to commencement of work and ensure appropriate approvals for the same.
• To work within the framework of the contracts/class rules/international standards for the department.
• To develop and implement a system to ensure regular maintenance service for the machinery and for breakdown related activities.
• Must be able to manage the facilities alongside the workshop and ensure compliance to all regulatory authorities.

Job Requirements

• High School or Equivalent qualification
• Certification from a Vocational school or trade school is preferred
• 6-8 years' experience on Marine, Ship Repair & Industrial sector
• Have technical knowledge of Marine Engines - Repair & Maintenance
• Ability to communicate effectively work independently or in a group
• Ability to communicate in English or Hindi
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
• Needs to be familiar with safety standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED6,000.00 per month
