As the Fabrication Foreman, you will oversee the fabrication process of steel structures, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout all stages of production in the concerned bay, under the guidance of the Bay-in-charge / Supervisor. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Guide the Fabricators and Fitters to accomplish the given fit-up activities and optimize utilization of man hours at par with bay set production targets as per the project quality requirements. To monitor the workers\' leaves & absences on day to day basis and counselling of workers to reduce the same as much as possible.
- Production Planning: Set production targets and ensure timely completion of fabrication projects according to client specifications and deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the fabrication process, conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- To report ongoing fabrication issues, potential productivity or quality enhancements & assist as and when required for the continuous improvement and also to adopt the established standard working practices to meet the day to day set production targets as well as to achieve the zero rework target.
- Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources, including materials, equipment, company assets like welding machine, tools & tackles, laser plumps, gas lines etc.and manpower, to optimize productivity and minimize wastage.
- Communication: Coordinate with the welding crew and other departments like CNC shop for materials feeding, QA/QC inspectors for job clearance, Stores for getting the required tools and consumables, etc.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address any challenges or obstacles that may arise during the fabrication process, implementing effective solutions to ensure project continuity.
- Preferably SSLC / ITI
- Relevant certifications in welding, fabrication, or construction management are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and shop floor reports.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication techniques, and materials.
- Have you supervised a team of Fabricators/Fitters?
