Responsibilities
• Is familiar with the nursery setting philosophy, code of conduct and the educational and other programs being applied in the nursery.
• Closely cooperates with other colleagues in the nursery to implement the programs in the best manner.
• Is flexible with all members of the team and able to cope with last minute changes or demands of the setting, to have a creative approach for problem solving, being approachable, reliable, conscientious, and possesses ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents and all members of the team.
• Serves as a good role model for teaching assistants in the daily running of the class.
• Prepares a child portfolio at the start of academic year with the child's artwork and samples of development.
• Assists the teaching assistant in preparation of cutouts, displays, and photocopying of resources needed.
• Maintains a stock take of the resources' in the class and looks after all the resources and note if any items are damaged or need to be replaced.
• Ensures health and safety is maintained around the nursery both indoors and outdoors.
• Assists the children with toileting, washing hands, etc.
• Supervises and monitors the children during lunch times on a daily basis and reports any concerns.
• Informs the Nursery Head of any concerns about a child, parent, or member of staff.
• Provides pastoral care and provides the children a secure environment to learn both indoors and outdoors.
• Prepares activities at the end of the day before leaving the premises so all the preparation is complete in advance for the next day.
• Arrives on time in the morning to set up activities, prepare, and set up the class before the children arrive.
• Helps develop and organize learning materials and resources' for the children's learning.
• Takes part in planning meetings and shares ideas and knowledge to develop and further improve the nursery.
• Plans enjoyable activities according to the curriculum of the nursery.
• Plans and prepares for all special events and celebrations which is celebrated in the nursery.
• Encourages children's development through songs stories, and role-play.
• Possesses knowledge of the EYFS and plans activities related to the settings themes that are planned.
• Understands and follows the nursery policies and procedures, and nursery requirements for the smooth running of the nursery.
• Reviews the educational and developmental programs and makes any necessary amendments.
• Implements the education objectives for each classroom.
• Plans the monthly subjects to be presented.
• Plans monthly activities and programs.
• Evaluates the knowledge acquired by children as compared to the objectives set.
Job Type / Category:
• 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday - 5 days a week.
• 2 year contract renewable.
• Salary 4500 AED-5000/month
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
• University Degree in Early Childhood Education
• or University Degree in any other specialization provided that it is accompanied by a certified professional certificate in Early Childhood Leadership (Level 3)
• or high school diploma provided that they are combined with a certified professional certificate in Early Childhood Leadership (Level 3) with at least two years of experience in the care or education of children.;
• all the above are dependent on ADEK approvals
• Excellent english skills-IELTS 7 above
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED4,500.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
