To be responsible for managing the effective and efficient administration of external examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations (on behalf of the JCQ member awarding bodies) and/or awarding body rules for exams administration in a consistent and secure fashion, thereby helping to maintain the integrity of the assessment process
To support the Head of centre in ensuring that the centre is compliant with the JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements in order to ensure the security and integrity of the examinations/assessments at all times
To act on behalf of, and be the main point of contact for, the centre in matters relating to the general administration of awarding body examinations and assessments
To closely liaise with key stakeholders (external and internal) to ensure exams administration processes are strictly followed and key deadlines met
To ensure examinations are conducted in accordance with the regulations
Through taking an ethical approach and working proactively to avoid malpractice among students and staff, supports the head of centre in taking all reasonable steps to prevent the occurrence of any malpractice/maladministration before, during the course of and after examinations have taken place
1. STRATEGIC ASPECTS OF THE ROLEAcquire and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the external assessment requirements through external companies or regulatory bodies such as GL education, MAP testing, IB examinations and KHDA and stay abreast of any changes which occur within this area for compliancy2. ADMINISTRATIVE ASPECTS OF THE ROLECreate timetables for when these tests need to be sat, book relevant spaces, computers and headphones for the completion of these assessments. Communicate the timetable details with all staff and liaise with the IT department to ensure the smooth running of all tests3. COVER MANAGEMENTManaging and organising cover for absent secondary teaching staffAbout YouTo be considered for this position, you must:
Fluent in the English language
Experience of working in a school environment or other environment with young people
Understanding of the IB diploma programme and/or university requirements
Ability to work in a team and individually using own initiative
A commitment to the education and well-being of pupils
Good IT competence in Excel and Word, literary and numeracy skills
Good written and verbal communication skills and be able to clarify and explain instructions clearly
Team-player, personable, approachable, emotionally intelligent with a sense of humour
Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealings with pupils, professionally discrete and able to respect confidentiality on particular issues
Demonstrates an understanding and awareness of behaviour, have empathy with students and be sympathetic to their needs
Calm under pressure, well-organised with a strong ability to meet deadlines
