Title: Events Scenographer
Reports to: Vice President - Events and Brands Experience
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Overview:
As an Events Scenographer, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing and executing the visual design and ambiance of various events. Your creative vision and technical expertise will be instrumental in transforming event spaces into immersive and memorable experiences. This position requires a blend of artistic flair, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of event dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Concept Development:
• Collaborate with event planners, clients, and stakeholders to understand event objectives, themes, and requirements.
• Develop creative concepts and visual designs that align with the event's goals and brand identity.
Scenography and Set Design:
• Design and create sets, stages, and spatial layouts that enhance the event atmosphere.
• Select and arrange decor elements, lighting, furniture, props, and materials to create visually appealing and functional event spaces.
• Ensure all designs meet safety, regulatory, and logistical requirements.
Technical Expertise:
• Proficiently use design software and tools (e.g., CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) to create detailed visual presentations and mock-ups.
• Understand and implement technical aspects of scenography, including lighting, sound, and multimedia integration.
Execution and Installation:
• Oversee the implementation and installation of scenic designs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and production teams to execute designs within budget and timeline constraints.
• Conduct site visits and rehearsals to ensure seamless execution of scenographic elements during events.
Creative Collaboration:
• Work closely with other creative professionals such as graphic designers, florists, and AV technicians to achieve cohesive event aesthetics.
• Provide guidance and direction to support staff and assistants involved in the scenography process.
Budget Management:
• Assist in budget planning and cost estimation for scenographic elements.
• Source materials, props, and equipment within budgetary constraints while maintaining design integrity.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience as a scenographer, set designer, or similar role in event production or related industries.
• Strong artistic and creative abilities, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to scenography.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of current trends in event design and technology is advantageous.
• Degree or certification in scenography, set design, visual arts, or a related field may be preferred.
Working Conditions:
• Events Scenographers often work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules and deadlines.
• The role may involve travel to event locations for site visits, installations, and rehearsals.
