Our farm hosts a variety of educational, community, and corporate events, and we are looking for a motivated Events Operations Manager to oversee the logistics and execution of these events.
As the Events Operations Manager, you will work closely with our team to ensure the seamless execution of each event, from initial planning stages to post-event analysis. You will be responsible for handling all on-site logistics, managing vendors, coordinating with farm teams, and ensuring that all events align with our mission of promoting sustainable agriculture and fostering community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Event Planning & Logistics : Coordinate all event operations, including venue setup, scheduling, vendor management, staffing, and transportation. Oversee the integration of agricultural elements such as farm tours, live demonstrations, and interactive exhibits.
• Team Leadership : Lead the operations team to ensure that all event activities are executed smoothly. Supervise event staff, volunteers, and temporary hires as needed.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management : Work with external vendors, including equipment rental companies, and transportation services, to ensure all requirements are met. Coordinate with internal teams such as farm staff, marketing, and finance to ensure alignment.
• Budget Management : Track and manage event budgets, ensuring costs are kept within allocated amounts and that events are delivered efficiently.
• Event Setup & Execution : Oversee event setup on the farm, including the preparation of outdoor and indoor spaces, signage, and equipment. Ensure all logistics are executed according to the plan.
• Health & Safety : Ensure compliance with safety protocols, especially when managing large crowds, outdoor activities, and handling agricultural equipment.
• Post-Event Evaluation : Gather feedback from attendees and stakeholders to evaluate event success. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and make recommendations for future improvements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of agricultural environments, farm operations, and the unique needs of farm-based events.
• Proficiency with general office software (MS Office, Google Workspace).
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with diverse groups of people, including farmers, vendors, corporate clients, and local community members.
• Physical capability to manage outdoor events and supervise farm-related activities in various weather conditions.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Experience managing events in rural, agricultural, or outdoor settings.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices in event management.
• Passion for agriculture and a commitment to promoting sustainable farming practices.
• Experience in managing both small-scale (local farm tours) and large-scale (festivals, trade shows) events.
• Experience working with government agencies, educational institutions, or community outreach events.
