Must have a minimum 4+ years of UAE experience as an Estimator Engineer in Fit-out & Interior industry. Candidate preferred: Can able to join immediately Responsibilities
- Preparing the bidding cost estimates for the given deadlines to be submitted for the Millwork and Joinery fit-out work
- Study tender documents including drawings, project specifications, BOQ, the scope of work, contract details, and conditions.
- Study tender BOQ, quantities take off, sending inquiries to the vendors/ subcontractors to get competitive quotations.
- Liaise with the construction/operations team to establish execution/method statements and reflect the same in estimation.
- Establish direct cost resources required to execute various activities.
- Prepare man-hour calculations for various activities.
- Preparing technical clarifications to clients for discrepancies in tender documents after reviewing, incorporating the changes after response.
- Participate in pre-tender meetings, site visits, and preparing site visit reports to analyze the project scope of work.
- Analyze vendor technical offers and commercial as well in view of project specifications and standards.
- Assessing and remarking on the technical and commercial specifications.
- Developing the material takeoffs to facilitate the Purchasing Department to acquire the market pricing.
- Evaluating and recognizing the major areas of improvement and implementing the cost estimation methods for initiating cost reductions and supporting the operational processes and efficiency
- Handling the withholding of vital bid documents or technical specifications in relation to the Policies and Procedures of the Company as defined by the Controller.
- Coordinating with the Purchasing team for confirming the maximization of the proper procurement methods.
- Verifying the quotations provided by the overseas supplier in terms of accuracy and compliance.
- Assisting the supplier meetings and discussions for challenging the price quotations while trying to reduce the same to meet the predefined costs.
- Conveying the RFI request to the relevant party for acquiring the missing pieces of information in the tender documents.
- Strong market knowledge of materials, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Proven experience in estimation of high end meduim to large prestigous fitout company
- Able to work under pressure, aware of industry prices.
- In depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Good negotiation skills andproblem solving
