We are looking for an experienced MEP Estimator with 5-10 years of experience working with MEP contractors in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have expertise in estimating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works for large-scale projects, including commercial , residential , and industrial developments. As an Estimator , you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and other related systems. This position requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of MEP systems, and a solid grasp of cost management principles.
The successful candidate will be part of the Estimation team and will report to the Senior Estimator or Estimation Manager, contributing to the bidding and pre-construction phases of various MEP projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of Cost Estimates:
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for MEP systems, including HVAC , plumbing , electrical , fire-fighting , and other related systems based on project drawings and specifications.
• Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to identify scope of work, labor, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
• Develop detailed estimates for material take-offs, labor costs, equipment costs, and other related expenses.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain material and labor quotes to integrate into the final estimate.
• Project Analysis and Scope of Work:
• Analyze project requirements and work with project managers, engineers, and design teams to understand the project's scope and objectives.
• Prepare a comprehensive breakdown of MEP works, including detailed cost analysis, to ensure all aspects of the work are covered.
• Review project documentation (drawings, specifications, schedules) to identify discrepancies and resolve issues before submitting the estimate.
• Bid Preparation:
• Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for MEP projects, ensuring that all client requirements are met, and estimates are competitive.
• Prepare and submit tender documents , including scope clarification, deviations, and price quotations.
• Collaborate with senior management to finalize the bid strategy and presentation for clients.
• Cost Control and Budgeting:
• Monitor and track the progress of ongoing projects to compare actual costs with estimates and adjust estimates for future work as needed.
• Track the progress of all MEP systems and manage project budgets to avoid overruns.
• Provide value engineering suggestions to reduce project costs while maintaining quality and performance.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Coordinate with the engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure that estimates align with design and project requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure the best pricing and quality for materials and services.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to clarify scope, resolve issues, and adjust project estimates as necessary.
• Risk Management:
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties during the estimation process and assess their impact on costs and timelines.
• Advise management on potential risks, budget constraints, and pricing discrepancies and provide recommendations for mitigating these issues.
• Evaluate the feasibility of a project from an MEP perspective and contribute to the risk analysis during pre-construction phases.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of cost estimates, proposals, and bids for internal and client reference.
• Ensure that all estimates comply with company procedures, industry standards, and local regulations.
• Provide detailed reports and presentations to senior management, including cost analysis , budget estimates , and progress reports .
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest MEP technologies, systems, and pricing trends in the UAE market.
• Continuously improve estimating practices, tools, and techniques to enhance the accuracy and competitiveness of bids.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience:
• 5-10 years of experience as an Estimator with a focus on MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire-fighting, etc.) within the UAE construction or contracting industry.
• Proven experience in cost estimation , bidding , and budget management for MEP projects.
• Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Civil Engineering , or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in cost estimating , project management , or quantity surveying
• Additional certifications in HVAC , MEP , or electrical systems are highly desirable.
• Skills & Expertise:
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems design, installation, and costs, including HVAC , plumbing , electrical , and fire-fighting systems.
• Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., ProEst , Bluebeam , CostX , or similar platforms).
• Deep understanding of construction cost estimation and quantity take-off processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings , specifications , and construction documents .
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with local construction codes and UAE regulations related to MEP systems.
• Language Skills:
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
• Other Requirements:
• Valid UAE driving license (required for site visits and material/vendor coordination).
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
