Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Estimation Engineer with expertise in high-voltage substations to join our power department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, along with experience in cost estimation and project management within the power sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for high-voltage substation projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to determine scope and requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather data and ensure accuracy in estimates.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating potential cost overruns.
• Develop and maintain estimation databases and cost libraries for future reference.
• Assist in the preparation of bid documents and proposals for clients.
• Monitor market trends and pricing for materials and services relevant to high-voltage substations.
• Participate in project meetings and provide input on budgetary issues and cost control strategies.
• Support project teams during the execution phase with updated cost estimates and budgeting assistance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in estimation and project management, specifically in high-voltage substations.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and construction practices related to substations.
• Proficient in estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in estimation processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Experience with project management methodologies and software.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., IEEE, ANSI).
