Job Title: MEP Estimation Engineer (With Background in MEP)

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MEP Estimation Engineer with a solid background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating costs and resources required for MEP projects, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and in accordance with specifications. This role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems and the ability to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to provide accurate cost projections while managing risks and ensuring efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) for construction and renovation projects, leveraging your background in MEP systems.
• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope and technical requirements for MEP work.
• Perform detailed take-offs and quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for MEP installations and systems.
• Conduct value engineering and cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, offering alternatives for more efficient or cost-effective solutions.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to gather accurate pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors specializing in MEP components.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive bids, proposals, and tender documents that align with client specifications and project scope.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor proposals and provide recommendations based on technical and cost considerations.
• Monitor project costs during the construction phase to ensure alignment with original estimates, identifying variances and taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, budgets, and quotations, ensuring accurate tracking of costs and project progress.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate updated design changes into the estimate and project budget.
• Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and resolve issues that may arise during the estimation process.
• Ensure timely submission of estimates and tender documents in accordance with deadlines and client requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, MEP materials, and construction practices to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
• Leverage your knowledge of MEP systems to assess the feasibility and practicality of designs during the estimation process.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field, with a strong focus on MEP systems.
• Proven experience as an MEP Estimation Engineer or a similar role, with a solid background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
• In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Proficient in estimation software (e.g., ProEst, Trimble Estimating, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications specific to MEP systems.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess risks and adjust estimates accordingly.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams, and explaining complex MEP systems.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and precision.
• Thorough understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for MEP systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with project management and budget tracking, especially within the context of MEP systems, is a plus.

• Full-time position, typically office-based with occasional site visits to review ongoing projects and assess the feasibility of MEP system installations.
