Required Estimation Engineer:

Job description:

1. Prepare detailed BOQ for MEP and Automation Services in line with project specifications and standards

2. Review architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings to identify quantities of materials and labor.

3. Estimate the total cost of MEP systems and automation services based on the BOQ.

4. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for material, labor, and equipment, considering local market rates in the UAE.

5. Analyse project specifications, scope, and drawings to determine the requirements for MEP services and automation solutions.

6. Utilize online applications and software tools (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, Plan Swift, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks) for estimating, take-offs, and project planning.

7. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on cost estimates, schedules, and project scope.

8. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing and ensure the feasibility of estimates.

9. Assist in preparing bids for tenders, ensuring all aspects of MEP and automation are accurately priced and covered.

10. Provide cost-effective solutions through value engineering, suggesting alternative approaches or materials to reduce costs without compromising quality.

11. Maintain records of estimates, revisions, and changes in costs or scope throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation and BOQ preparation for MEP and Automation Services, preferably in the UAE construction sector.

Technical Knowledge:

a. Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing), and Automation Services in construction.

b. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and relevant design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).

Software Proficiency:

a. Experience with estimating software such as ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and other digital tools for take-offs and cost estimation.

b. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and reporting.

Knowledge of UAE Standards: Familiar with local construction standards, codes, and regulations in the UAE.

Experience Required: 4-5 years (Minimum) in the UAE

Work Location - Abu Dhabi

Duty - 5 days in a week.
