Equipment Fitter

Purpose

To adjust and modify metal parts to produce components in line with cost, deadlines, and quality expectations.

Key Activities

Review technical files and manufacturing instructions. Perform manual or machine-based fitting and assembly of small-to-medium mechanical subassemblies. Ensure compliance using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, binoculars, etc.). Carry out certified operations when required (e.g., sealing, ball joint crimping, pressure testing). Report any anomalies (breakdowns, non-conforming parts, environmental safety issues). Check tool conditions and report defects. Conduct self-inspections. Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S methodology, FOD control). Record data in tracking documents and management software. Train new operators. Follow company standards (ARP, etc.) and support continuous improvement.

For Pyrotechnic Equipment:

Adjust, weld, braze, or glue mechanical parts. Handle active materials, chemicals, or sharp tools. Use forming, bending, or electrical measurement tools. Ensure safety for personnel and assets.
