Line of Service AdvisoryIndustry/Sector Not ApplicableSpecialism DealsManagement Level Director & Summary The key purpose of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Due Diligence is to address companies potential controversial conduct or failure to adhere to legal regulations, while providing information on responsible ESG programmes. ESG due diligence analyzes the current state of a company, particularly with regard to its environmental and social impact, as well as the quality of its corporate governance.Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues now constitute a crucial part of the investment decision-making process and portfolio management. ESG DD is therefore an important component of both the "sell-side" and the "buy-side" in transactionsPwC provides an adaptive approach to each case of ESG Due Diligence depending on the risks identified in the target companies. We have already managed several ESG projects for clients in the area of financial services, automotive industry, and the energy sector.What to consider before applyingThis role requires the candidate to be based out of our Riyadh or Dubai office.ResponsibilitiesAs a Financial Due Diligence Senior Manager or Director dedicated to ESG, you\'ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy through to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage and execute financial due diligence projects with a specific focus on ESG considerationsAssess the impact of ESG factors on financial performance, risk management, and long-term value creationConduct comprehensive ESG due diligence assessments to evaluate investment opportunities and identify potential risks and opportunitiesProvide expert guidance and recommendations on integrating ESG considerations into investment strategies and decision-making processesCollaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop sustainable investment frameworks and metricsStay up-to-date with ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to inform and influence investment strategiesDeliver clear and concise reports and presentations to clients, highlighting ESG risks, impacts, and potential mitigation strategiesAssist in the development and implementation of ESG policies, procedures, and frameworks to support sustainable investment practices.Requirements8+ years of experience in financial due diligence, with a significant focus on ESG factors preferably from a professional services firmHas directly worked on ESG materiality and/or maturity assessments, ESG performance reviews, benchmarking, and developing an ESG high level roadmapGood understanding of net zero, circular economy, decarbonisation, sustainable development, the 17 UN SDGs, global reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, ISSB, CSRD), the double materiality concept, sustainability strategy implementation, and experience in measuring and monitoring scope 1,2, and 3 carbon emissionsExperience in conducting due diligence assessments and evaluating ESG performance across various sectors and asset classesHands on experience supporting a business undergoing mergers, integrations, spin-offs and/or divestiture transactions related to ESGProficiency in ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies (e.g., SASB, GRI, TCFD)Strong financial analysis skills and proficiency in conducting due diligence assessments including financial modeling and risk assessmentCertificate in ESG Investing, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), CDP or equivalent certification would be an assetDeep knowledge of sustainability topics, ESG metrics, and impact measurement methodologiesProficient in data analysis and interpretation, utilizing ESG data providers and software toolsProven track record of leading teams and managing complex projectsEvidence of leading on successful business development opportunities including client lead maturation, proposal development, and closing new business opportunitiesAbility to deliver significant business results that reflect both strategic and creative thinkingConfident communicator and can deliver messages with impact to a wide variety of audiencesExcellent report writing and presentation skillsYour flexibility to travel 20-40% of the time. This means we may require you to work away from your base office location on a regular basis and frequent overnight stays may be required.
